Team TotalEnergies has extended Fabien Grellier and Paul Ourselin, two of its dependable supporting riders, who will now be with the Team until 2024.
Fabien Grellier: “There is nothing more satisfying than working together”
“I’m very pleased to be sticking with the team that has given me the chance to improve. It was an obvious choice for me. I’ve been through the different stages: training, Vendée U and then the professional Team. My team-mates have become my friends. There’s a family atmosphere which I really like. I want to work for the leaders, use my input to help my team-mates and contribute to the final result. It’s a real team effort and there is nothing more satisfying than working together and winning together. I would also like to join the Tour de France in the future, to keep enjoying cycling and to join the breakaways, hopefully to get something to celebrate.”
Paul Ourselin: “I can do as much if not more for others than myself”
“It’s great to be looking forward to more adventures with the Team. I would like to thank Jean-René Bernaudeau and all our partners for their confidence in me. If you include the Vendée U, I’ve been in the same team for eight seasons now. So it made sense to carry on. I’ve found my place here: I’m really settled. I will continue to support the team and the leaders. I’m happy in that role. I can do as much if not more for others than for myself. When the leaders are respectful and appreciative, and they are, it’s even easier. I’m also hoping to clinch a first win with the pros, when I’m able to take those opportunities.”
