Julien Simon signs for one more season

We are pleased to officially announce the extension of Julien Simon’s contract for one more year. After joining the team in 2020, Julien will wear the Vendée strip for a fourth season.

The man to watch

Julien Simon is without a doubt the man to watch at TotalEnergies. The 36-year-old from Brittany has found a second wind and a fierce energy that have seen him claim three wins this season. He is currently top of the French Road Cycling Cup ranking, and we couldn’t be happier!

“I’m thrilled to keep going after a good season and a new winning streak. I really love the atmosphere in this team. It was important to me to stay an extra season. I’m going to keep on giving it everything I’ve got, as I’ve been doing for quite a few years now. And I can help the younger riders with my experience, so they can develop in the professional sphere.”

Is Julien Simon aiming to end the season with victory in the French Road Cycling Cup?

With 129 points to his name and four races to go, Julien Simon is top of the Cup ranking. He has a lead of 33 points over Clément Venturini (AG2R Citroën Team) and 37 on Amaury Capiot (Arkéa-Samsic).

“We’ll see how the last French Cup races play out. I’m not saying that I wouldn’t like to win, when I’m in the lead with just a few rounds to go. But I’m not going to put myself under pointless pressure.”
