Jason Tesson Wins Stage Two of La Tropicale!

Jason Tesson came out on top in Stage Two of La Tropicale Amissa Bongo, sprinting across the finish line ahead of teammate Emilien Jeannière, who made his first podium appearance as a pro.

Off to a Great Start

A day after Geoffrey Soupe’s Stage One win, new recruit Jason Tesson topped the podium in Gabon for Stage 2. The Angers native needed only two days on the road to make his mark in his new team’s jersey, sprinting ahead of the peloton at the end of the 109-kilometer leg from Oyem to Mitzic. Rookie Emilien Jeannière came in second, racking up his first podium finish with the pros. It’s a promising start for the new season!

Jason Tesson, Jersey Boy

“I’m proud because this is my first win in this jersey and the second for the team this season. We’re off! The objective today was to filter the breakaways in order to make it to the sprint and compete for the stage victory. Winning in the Team jersey is an incredible feeling. Like I said when I joined, I’ve been a fan since I was young. I’m really happy. We worked hard this winter. During the January clinic, we perfected our reflexes with the sprint train and paceline. The results of that were on display today.”

Jason Tesson now ranks second in the general classification, right behind his teammate Geoffrey Soupe, who held onto his yellow jersey.
