Team TotalEnergies was back on the road yesterday in Spain’s Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana. This first race of the season ended with a podium finish for Edvald Boasson-Hagen.
The Season has Begun!
The Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana opens the pro cycling season in Europe. The Spanish race, which returned to the scene in 2021, has become a launching pad for Team TotalEnergies. After two weeks of training in Calpe, seven of our riders were on the starting line yesterday morning in Valencia. As the 190-kilometer race drew to a close, the fastest riders battled it out in the streets of La Nucia. Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Dstny) pulled ahead of Jenthe Biermans (Team Arkéa-Samsic) and Edvald Boasson-Hagen in an erratic sprint marred by two falls in the final straightaway.
3 Podium Finishes in 3 Years
Team TotalEnergies has become a podium fixture a the Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana since 2021. Lorrenzo Manzin came in first that year, Chris Lawless came in third in 2022 and Edvald Boasson-Hagen followed suit yesterday. The team has more races coming up and will have an opportunity to shine again this week during the Vuelta a San Juan in Argentina and the Tropicale Amissa Bongo in Gabon.
