After five great seasons with the Team TotalEnergies, Dries Van Gestel was hoping to conclude his adventure with the Team on the last Belgian classics of the season. Unfortunately, a scaphoid fracture put an early end to his season.
Dries first crashed during the Muur Classic Geraardsbergen, his last race with the colours of the Team TotalEnergies, before suffering a second crash in training a week later. These incidents caused his injury, forcing him to take a three-month forced stoppage. Dries has successfully operated on and is expected to remove his splint by the end of the week.
He had originally planned to participate in the Gravel World Championships and would have liked to take part in the Omloop van het Houtland (25th of October), but will have to skip these races.

His adventure with the Team therefore ended prematurely. We wish him all the best for the rest of his career.
During these five years, Dries Van Gestel has left his mark on the team with his professionalism, kindness and sense of combativeness.
