Sandy Dujardin, close to ending his season on a high!

The Polynormande, a historic race on the French calendar, suits our sprinter-puncheur perfectly. Born and raised in Normandy, Sandy Dujardin had another opportunity to claim victory on home roads in Saint-Martin-de-Landelles.

11th in 2022 and runner-up in 2025, Sandy also finished 5th at the 2024 French Championships. This year once again, he was aiming for victory on his home turf.

After Mathis Le Berre and Thibault Guernalec spent a long time in the breakaway, Sandy Dujardin and Alexandre Delettre managed to make their way into the group that would eventually fight for the win. Despite several attacks in the final, Alexandre set a strong pace in the last kilometre to give Sandy the best possible chance of sprinting for victory.

After an intense effort, our sprinter-puncheur briefly thought he had secured the win, before a rival managed to come back in the final metres. Sandy ultimately finished second in the Polynormande once again, in the 11th round of the FDJ United Series.

A final result to bring his 2026 season to a close.

As he announced last week, the Polynormande was indeed Sandy’s final race of the year. Having been hampered since the start of the season, our rider has been dealing with an issue affecting his iliac artery. With surgery scheduled in the coming days, followed by a period of recovery, Sandy has therefore decided to bring his season to an end.

He will thus finish his year in Normandy with a strong second-place finish. A fitting way to conclude a season that saw him record nine Top-10 finishes.
