The 2026 Tour of Mentougou came to an end this Sunday in the heart of Mentougou District, with a final twelve-lap circuit on the outskirts of the Chinese capital.
From the opening kilometres, a breakaway formed at the front of the race. Quickly brought under control by the sprinters’ teams, it never really threatened the peloton. An ideal situation for Team TotalEnergies, whose priority was to keep Joris Delbove safe and allow him to approach the final day without any trouble.
With the breakaway caught on the final lap, a bunch sprint was inevitable. Perfectly led out by his teammates, Lorrenzo Manzin took second place on the stage, securing his second podium of the season after his result at the Tour de Provence.
At the end of this week in China, Team TotalEnergies returns home with the yellow jersey in the general classification, Joris Delbove’s stage victory and two second-place finishes.
Another key objective was to put the Team in the spotlight in China. The second stage perfectly illustrated this ambition, with a memorable one-two finish. Joris Delbove’s dominance and the commitment of our stagiaire Paul Conor will remain among the highlights of this edition and, undoubtedly, as a memorable image of this Chinese race.
A highly satisfying overall result for Dominique Arnould’s men, who conclude their first participation in the Tour of Mentougou on a strong note.
