Mont-de-Marsan to Bordeaux, that’s the menu for today’s stage 7. A similar stage to Stage 4, with a massive finish in Nogaro to end a long day of waiting.
Pierre Latour spices things up.
If this stage was shaping up to be similar to stage 4 of this Tour de France, with a rather long day and a grouped peloton right to the end, it was Pierre Latour who decided to change things.
With around 74 kilometers to go, the Frenchman and 2 companions (PETERS Nans (AG2R Citroën Team) GUGLIELMI Simon (Team Arkéa Samsic) ) decided to lead the three-man breakaway. Although the two riders from Arkea and AG2R dropped one after the other from the lead group, it was Pierre Latour who continued the hard work.
Despite his efforts and initiative, our rider was caught 3 kilometers from the finish in Bordeaux, but we can’t fail to commend this display of energy.
