The Tour du Jura was born in 2006. Organized by the Jura Cyclisme Pays du Revermont club, it is the offshoot of the Tour du Revermont, an event taking place in the municipalities of Poligny, Arbois and Salins-les-Bains. Quickly, the Tour du Revermont went from a simple race to a local event that won over partners, the public and elected officials. This is why in 2006 with the support of the Departmental Council, the Tour du Jura Cycliste was created.

The objective is to offer an event "Made in Jura" participating in the promotion of the territory in a sustainable way.

The Tour du Jura is also about meeting the Jura public who, throughout the course, celebrate the passage of the riders with passion.
