Jordan Victorious: A Remarkable Return!

Jordan Jegat makes a remarkable return! After an explosive finale on the slopes of La Malate, the Breton rider claims victory at the Classic Grand Besançon Doubs and opens his professional win tally in style.

An early breakaway was kept under control for much of the race, but things really came to a head with 20 kilometers to go. Still well represented in a peloton of around fifty riders, Team TotalEnergies set a strong pace, putting the weaker riders under pressure.

Following a series of short climbs, the high tempo stretched the peloton on the narrow roads approaching Montfaucon, ahead of the decisive ascent of La Malate. Well positioned heading into the final climb, the team did a perfect job setting up their leader.

At 3.3 km long, with an average gradient of 9.5% and ramps as steep as 17%, La Malate proved decisive. Jordan Jegat managed to stay with the best and even made the front selection, as a group of four riders broke clear in the closing kilometers.

Alert and composed, the Breton climber covered every move. In the finale, alongside two riders from Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale, he waited for the perfect moment. With 200 meters to go, he launched a sharp attack, dropping his rivals and powering solo to the line.

On his return to racing, he takes victory at the Classic Grand Besançon Doubs — the first professional win of his career!

Smiling after the finish, Jordan reflected on his performance:

I knew I was capable of doing it. I’ve been thinking about this race for a long time. Taking my first professional win here, on my return to competition, is a dream scenario.

Today, I had to face some really strong rivals in the final, but I didn’t give in. I trusted myself, stayed calm and humble… and it paid off. It feels really good!

There’s nothing better for confidence. As a team, we’ll be back on the start line tomorrow with the same motivation and the same goal.
