Tour de Lombardie

The Tour of Lombardy (Italian: Giro di Lombardia), officially known as Il Lombardia, is an Italian cycling race founded in 1905. The race is traditionally the last of the five 'monument' classics of the season and is considered one of the most prestigious one-day races in road cycling. It is held in the autumn, usually on the third weekend in October, earning it the nickname of the 'Dead Leaves Classic', which it shares with Paris-Tours. It is run over a difficult course between the lakes and mountains of Lombardy. The race's most famous climb is the Madonna del Ghisallo in the race's finale.
