Team TotalEnergies’ riders had a chance to show their stuff during the four-stage Route d’Occitanie, which began on June 15. Sandy Dujardin and Jason Tesson stood out, respectively, in Stages 1 and 2.
A Great Start to a 4-Stage Race
The Team stood out from the very first stage on Thursday, June 15. Sandy Dujardin came in second and Dries Van Gestel fifth, setting the tone for the rest of the race. Jason Tason stepped up the very next day with a sprint to victory, thanks to a magnificent team effort to bring him within 200 meters of the finish line. His perfectly orchestrated sprint brought him a well-earned win.
Jason Tesson’s Reaction
Jason Tesson had this to say about his Stage 2 win:
“The guys did what was needed to get me close to the finish line. A big sprint for the team – it was a nice feeling after a fallow period. I want to thank the entire team and the staff, who did a great job.
I’m very sad about what happened in Switzerland. My thoughts are with Gino, his team, his friends and his family. We are with them.”
